And so begins the first step in the road to the World Series for the Cubs, an opening round matchup with the Dodgers. I’m confident that our team is much better and should take this series in 4 games. That’s my prediction- Go Cubbies!

It's Official- NHL Winter Classic at Wrigley

Announced just recently, the Blackhawks will indeed play the Red Wings at Wrigley Field on New Years Day 2009. This is so awesome. Tickets will likely be ungettable, but where theres a will theres a way. Click the photo to get some more info on the game and more pics of the Hawks at Wrigley.
Cubs, Sox Crosstown Showdown Day 1

Some of the best time for baseball in Chicago is during the ‘Crosstown Classic’ twice each year. This year is unlike no other showdown, however. The Cubs and Sox have never battled being in first place in their respective divisions; until now.
Be sure to follow the series this weekend because it is sure to be legendary.

This weekend is big not just for baseball fans, but also for businesses looking to score big on the rivalry. Last year McDonald’s was a leading marketer of the rivalry, with commercials of Cubs and Sox players playing pranks on each other. This year, though, they have been silent. But many other businesses get in on the act, and I’ll be finding and documenting what I find this weekend.
