It really hit me today that summer is drawing to an end, as I noticed how little sunlight remained at 7pm. I immediately felt kind of depressed. After all, summertime is my favorite time of the year. But with fall approaching, I do have plenty to look forward to. Hoodie and bonfire weather brings a nice relief to the swealtering summer heat (although this summer hasn’t been too bad). I’m also looking forward to visiting pumpkin farms, Halloween and the changing colors. On the sports front, the Cubs will be finishing off their season and hopefully win the World Series, football season returns, and the Blackhawks will finally have all their games on TV.

I’m hoping a new season brings some new luck, mostly in the form of getting hired. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve enjoyed having the whole summer to just working part-time with my Dad and living it up as much as possible. But I desperately want (and need) to get hired and start my career and the rest of my life. Let’s hope my unemployment status will fall like the leaves on the trees.
