True Gentleman in The Windy City
NHL Winter Classic – Fenway Style
Update: My prophecy has rung true.
I’m starting 2010 off with a post about hockey, which will probably occur more frequently this year. I may even start a new blog to house my rejuvinated zeal for hockey. (Sidenote: I’ve always been a hockey fan, going way back to when I was in junior high and actually played hockey).
The NHL Winter Classic is really becoming something special in the sports world, and after being around it first hand last year, it’s one of the events I look forward to all year. This year’s Classic takes place in baseball’s oldest remaining stadium, Fenway Park in Boston. I’ve never been to Boston, (yet) but I’ve always been fond of the Red Sox and feel like that’s one city I could feel very comfortable living in, besides Chicago of course. I’m partial to last year’s Classic inside Wrigley field, but I
must say Fenway looks pretty damn good set up as a hockey rink.
My prediction? Boston wins. Score doesn’t matter, but I think Boston is the better team, doesn’t have a new coach like Philly, and has a stable goaltender. And they’re jerseys are like 437% better.
