My Typical Day
13
January
I bitch a lot about my commute, and I think it’s justified, but I’m trying to make more of an effort to complain less about it. To help with that, I thought I would lay out what my average day is like for people to get a perspective of what I do to make it to work each and every day. Think of this as my biggest and last crying session, if you will.
6:25- wake up
6:28- get in shower
6:45- begin getting dressed
6:55- begin grabbing all my shit for the day
7:08- start car
7:10- brush teeth and double check I have everything
7:20- leave house
8:00ish- arrive at Olympia Fields Metra station
8:03 or 8:07- hop on train
8:45 or 8:57- arrive downtown at millenium station
9-9:15- walk into my office
As you can see, I don’t actually make it to work until nearly 3 hours after waking up- and that’s when there are no delays due to weather.
Rest of the day goes normally at work.
5:05- leave office
5:17- board Metra train back to Olympia Fields
5:58- arrive in Olympia Fields
6:45ish- arrive back home
And there you have it, 12 hours for an 8 hour work day.
So now you may know why I leave tweetups and events early- and why I absolutely cannot wait to make enough money to move closer to the city
