My grandmother was a nurse. I date a nurse, whose mother and sister are also nurses. I’ve been in hospitals a fair amount lately, but even these statistics shocked me.

We have a program at work where we can donate school supplies to kids around Chicago that need all the essentials. Backpacks, pens, pencils, markers, paper, etc. The things you and me took for granted when we were kids. Me and a co-worker teamed up to fully supply a 7-8th grade boy for the year. [...]
